Essentials for this role:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
- Significant, proven experience instructing pupils with varied special educational needs within the UK education system.
- A current, clear Enhanced DBS certificate (or readiness to swiftly obtain one).
- Comprehensive understanding of SEN frameworks, successful intervention strategies, and contemporary educational best practices.
- Demonstrated qualities of resilience, patience, strong initiative, and effective classroom management.
Key Responsibilities
As a vital Special Education Teacher, you will be instrumental in the growth and attainment of every student. Your duties will be centred on differentiated instruction, careful progress monitoring, and adapting resources.
- Design and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons perfectly tailored to student's unique SEN requirements, ensuring every learner achieves their potential.
- Implement both formal and continuous informal assessments to accurately monitor student attainment and utilise this vital data to refine your teaching methods.
- Adapt and modify educational materials and learning environments to guarantee complete accessibility for all students.
- Work closely with support staff (TAs), families, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for each child.
- Cultivate and maintain a safe, structured, and welcoming classroom culture, expertly managing behaviour to promote an optimal learning environment.
