Stockton-on-Tees is seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Practitioner (Locum Social Worker) to join their Specialist Assessment Team (SAT). This is a rare, non-case-holding opportunity that allows you to focus purely on high-quality decision-making, expert analysis, and complex assessment work.
The Focus of This Role (Non-Case-Holding):
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will utilize your senior experience to drive the initial phase of intervention without carrying a long-term caseload. Your responsibilities will include:
High-Level Triage & Assessment: Completing complex, detailed assessments (e.g., Section 47 investigations, viability assessments) to inform case progression.
Expert Decision Making: Providing consultation and guidance to less experienced staff, ensuring robust decision-making at the front end of services.
Quality Assurance: Reviewing assessment reports and plans for quality, statutory compliance, and timeliness.
Court/Legal Preparation: Conducting initial legal planning meetings (PLOs) and contributing high-quality evidence and analysis to pre-proceedings.

Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
Extensive post-qualifying experience in Child Protection and Assessment, preferably at a Senior or Advanced Practitioner level.
Proven ability to undertake complex assessments and make independent, sound judgments under pressure.
Demonstrable commitment to high-quality, legally compliant report writing.
