If so, Randstad is recruiting for a Specialist Practitioner to join the Calderdale Council - EDT in AMHP Team
This is a full-time role offering up to £35 per hour.
Here's the Role:
- Undertaking statutory Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) assessments under the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended 2007) specifically for children and adolescents.
- Making informed and autonomous decisions regarding the need for detention under the Mental Health Act, always prioritising the least restrictive options and the child's best interests.
- Working collaboratively and effectively with children, young people, their families/carers, and a range of multi-agency partners including CAMHS, police, health professionals, and social care colleagues.
- Providing expert advice, consultation, and support to other professionals and agencies regarding mental health crises in children and young people.
- Undertaking robust risk assessments and developing appropriate safety and crisis management plans.
- Ensuring all actions and decisions are legally compliant, ethically sound, and in line with best practice and safeguarding procedures for children.
- Maintaining accurate, comprehensive, and timely case records in accordance with legal and service requirements.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the Emergency Duty Team's response to children's mental health needs.

Requirements:
- Social Work England registered
- Social Work Degree or equivalent
- Enhanced DBS
Experience:
- Children's Social Work
