As a Specialist Study Skills Tutor, your responsibilities will include:
Providing tailored, one-to-one academic support to students with SpLD.
Designing and delivering personalised learning plans to meet individual student needs.
Encouraging independent learning by building on students' strengths and learning styles.
Assisting with time management, organisation, and effective study techniques.
Supporting reading, writing, and comprehension skills in an academic context.
Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Working in partnership with Randstad to ensure students receive the highest quality support.
Delivering sessions both in-person and online, with flexible scheduling options.
What We're Looking For
To be eligible for this role, you must:
Hold membership with one of the following professional bodies:
British Dyslexia Association (BDA)
Association of Dyslexia Specialists in Higher Education (ADSHE)
The Dyslexia Guild
Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be organised, dependable, and able to manage a diverse caseload of students
Be confident in identifying learning strengths and guiding students to become independent learners
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional guidelines
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
