Seeking a dedicated and insightful Supervising Social Worker to join an IFA based in Cardiff. Summary of Job
- Location & Coverage: Based in Cardiff, covering a manageable caseload across the South Wales region.
- Caseload Management: Maintaining low caseloads, typically responsible for up to 13 fostering families to ensure high-quality intervention.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Carer Supervision: Providing robust support and guidance to a caseload of 13-15 fostering families, helping them to refine their skills and reach their full potential.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring all care delivered meets the high standards of Compass Fostering and adheres to current fostering regulations and childcare law.
- Assessment: Conducting objective professional assessments of children and young people to identify and meet their specific needs.
- On-Call Support: Participating in a regular out-of-hours on-call rota to provide essential wrap-around support for foster parents.
- Service Growth: Actively contributing to the dynamic growth of the fostering service through creative and reflective practice.
- Safeguarding: Upholding rigorous safeguarding protocols and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislative requirements.
Requirements
The ideal candidate must hold a Social Work qualification and be registered (or eligible for registration) with Social Care Wales. Proven experience in fostering or child social care (such as Looked After Children teams) is essential. While not a requirement, the ability to speak Welsh is highly desirable.
