Key Job Summary & Focus
The core objective of the Supervising Social Worker is to provide robust and intensive support to foster carers, empowering them to deliver the best quality of care to vulnerable children in placement.

Role Focus: Dedicated to providing monthly supervision and support to a manageable caseload of approved carers. Form F assessments and incoming referrals are managed by separate teams.
Support System: Access to a multi-disciplinary team, including Behaviour Specialists, Health Professionals, Educational Advisors, and dedicated Support Workers (offering 1:1 emotional/practical help and transport assistance).

Duties & Responsibilities
The post holder will ensure all fostering services adhere to statutory requirements while focusing on developing the skills and resilience of foster carers.
Providing regular, intensive, monthly supervision to allocated foster carers within the caseload.
Conducting planned and unannounced visits to children in placement, ensuring adherence to statutory guidelines and the child's welfare.
Developing, implementing, and reviewing annual training and development plans for foster carers.
Ensuring practice consistently aligns with the Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011 and the Fostering Services National Minimum Standards 2011.
Participating in the service's Out-of-Hours (OOH) duty rota (typically 2-3 times per month), which operates over the phone.
Working collaboratively within the team, offering support and mutual assistance, particularly during periods of increased workload.

Annual Leave: 30 days plus 8 Bank Holidays.
