An esteemed Independent Fostering Agency (IFA) is currently seeking a dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. This agency is celebrated for its "Outstanding" Ofsted rating and a unique operational structure that allows practitioners to focus on high-quality relationship building.
Unlike traditional roles, this position segregates tasks effectively, the successful candidate will focus entirely on the support and development of foster carers, as Form F assessments and referrals are managed by specialist internal departments.
Job Summary & Strategic Focus
The primary goal is to empower foster carers through intensive, high-level support, ensuring children in placement receive the highest standard of care.
The role offers a manageable caseload, allowing for meaningful intervention.
Practitioners work alongside Behaviour Specialists, Health Professionals, and Educational Advisers to provide a holistic support network.
Central office is based in Sheffield, with the caseload primarily covering the East Midlands (Mansfield and Nottingham).
Duties & Responsibilities
Delivering intensive, monthly supervision sessions to a designated caseload of approved foster carers.
Conducting a mix of planned and unannounced visits to monitor the welfare of children and ensure regulatory compliance.
Designing and reviewing bespoke annual training plans to enhance the professional development and resilience of carers.
Maintaining strict adherence to the Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011 and National Minimum Standards.
Contributing to the out-of-hours (OOH) telephone duty rota, providing essential guidance to carers during evenings and weekends (approx. 2-3 times per month).
Collaborating with dedicated Support Workers who assist with practical tasks, such as 1:1 emotional support and transport for children.
