This Specialist Trust in Cranleigh is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team from September 2025. About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students' learning and development, both in and out of the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting teachers in the delivery of tailored educational programmes.
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to students, adapting to their individual needs.
- Helping to create a stimulating and safe learning environment.
- Supporting students with their communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
- Assisting with personal care and promoting independence skills where appropriate.
- Accompanying students on educational visits and activities, which may involve driving school vehicles.
- Working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team of teachers, therapists, and care staff.
What We're Looking For:
- Essential: Demonstrable experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with complex needs and/or autism.
- Essential: A full, clean driving licence and a willingness to drive school vehicles.
- A genuine passion for working with young people with SEN and a commitment to their progress and well-being.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and families.
- Patience, resilience, and a positive, can-do attitude.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated team.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
