We are partnering with a leading digital travel company in their search for a Tax Controller. This role will initially run for 3 months on a temporary basis, offering hybrid working (3 days at home) and a hourly rate equivalent of £83,000 (PAYE) to £94,000 (umbrella).
As the Tax Controller, you will take full ownership and responsibility of the tax accounting and compliance activities, collaborating together with senior stakeholders in Finance and the business. The role manages a small team of people and drives operations, engagement and development within the team.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Lead the day to day tax accounting activities
- Review and approve VAT/GST filings across multiple jurisdictions
- Be responsible for the timely delivery and the integrity of the internal and/or external financial
- reporting
- Guide the team in handling and solving complex issues
- Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders within Finance and the business unit
- Work closely with external tax advisors on compliance matters and tax authority enquires
- Support and provide oversight to the accounting team with the monthly closing process
- Manage a team of people and drive operations, engagement and development within the team
- Ensure adherence to compliance requirements including SOX, tax, statutory audits are met.
- Identify, develop and make improvements to processes and procedures.
This role could be right for you if you have:
- Experience in Finance and/or accounting preferably within a Big 4 environment and/or multinational corporate
- environment
- Experience with indirect tax compliance processes
- Sound knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and SOX
- Experience managing teams, coaching, and providing training on the job
- Enthusiasm about developing and leading people
- Proven ability and the credibility to persuade and influence in effecting changes within an organisation
- Strong IT experience in financial systems, including SAP, is preferable
