Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent UK teaching qualification.
- A clear and up-to-date Enhanced DBS check.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Evidence of recent and relevant professional development.
Skills:
- Expertise in curriculum design and the ability to create engaging, challenging, and inclusive lesson plans.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for English Language and English Literature.
- Proficiency in using a range of assessment tools to monitor and evaluate student progress.
- Creativity and resourcefulness in developing engaging and differentiated teaching materials.
Responsibilities:
- To plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons to a diverse range of students.
- To accurately assess student work, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- To track and monitor student progress, intervening with targeted support where necessary.
- To contribute to the development and enhancement of the English curriculum and departmental resources.
- To participate in departmental and whole-school meetings and professional development sessions.
- To foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages critical thinking and creativity.
- To maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and achievement.
- To communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and welfare.
- To act as a form tutor, providing pastoral care and guidance to a designated group of students.
- To uphold the school's high standards of behaviour and academic integrity at all times.
