The Role: Full-Time History Teacher
This is an immediate, full-time opportunity for a dedicated History Teacher to step into a key position within a large, co-educational secondary school and sixth form located in Leeds. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging History lessons across the full 11-18 age range, contributing to the strong academic progress of the humanities department. Requirements:
... - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the current UK History curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

- Organisation: Superior planning, time management, and administrative skills.
- Resilience: The ability to remain positive, calm, and effective under pressure.
- IT Proficiency: Competence in using educational technology and school management systems.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and well-structured History lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Assess, monitor, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of all assigned students.
- Establish and maintain a stimulating, safe, and positive learning environment within the classroom.
- Implement and enforce the school's behaviour management policies consistently and fairly.
- Contribute to the creation and review of departmental schemes of work and teaching resources.
- Attend and contribute constructively to department, staff, and parental meetings.
- Act as a tutor, undertaking pastoral duties and supporting the social and emotional well-being of a designated group of students.
- Undertake all necessary administrative tasks related to the role, including record-keeping and data analysis.
- Supervise and manage any teaching assistant support assigned to the classroom.
- Participate in the school's extracurricular programme, offering clubs or revision sessions related to History.
