The Role
As our new Year 6 Teacher, you will be responsible for:
- Planning, preparing, and delivering highly engaging and challenging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of all pupils in your Year 6 class, ensuring excellent progress and attainment towards Key Stage 2 SATs.
- Creating a positive, stimulating, and safe learning environment that fosters independence, resilience, and a love of learning.
- Thoroughly assessing and monitoring pupil progress, providing targeted feedback and adapting teaching strategies to maximize outcomes, with a strong focus on preparing pupils for SATs.
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of pupil achievement and contributing to detailed pupil reports.
- Collaborating effectively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support pupil well-being and academic success.
- Leading and inspiring pupils through the transition from primary to secondary education.
- Contributing actively to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and school events.
- Upholding the school's ethos and policies, including safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has proven experience of teaching in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6, with a strong understanding of SATs preparation and the associated pressures.
- Possesses a deep understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and assessment framework.
- Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge older primary learners.
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
- Is highly organised, resilient, and able to manage the demands of a Year 6 class effectively.
- Is committed to continuous professional development and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
