St Albans
Do you bring the energy, vision, and pedagogy to turn an everyday classroom into a vibrant hub of curiosity and academic progress?
Can you establish positive, clear classroom routines where children take pride in their achievements and feel safe to take learning risks?
Are you seeking a reliable, full-time class teacher contract providing long-term security at a progressive primary school?
Randstad Education has partnered with a forward-looking Primary School in the heart of St Albans to appoint a committed Primary Teacher (QTS mandatory) on an ongoing, full-time basis. Catering to pupils across the primary phases, the school combines high academic ambition with an emphasis on emotional resilience and community values. We want an articulate, creative practitioner ready to lead a form group, drive literacy and numeracy standards, and contribute actively to school-wide development.
Core Classroom Objectives
- Dynamic Instruction: Formulate and teach imaginative lessons mapped to National Curriculum guidelines, scaffolded to challenge gifted learners while offering clear access points for children working towards age-related goals.
- Foundational Competencies: Utilise structured reading interventions, concrete-pictorial-abstract maths strategies, and evidence-based phonics schemes to raise core subject fluency.
- TA Direction & Teamwork: Brief and deploy classroom teaching assistants effectively, managing group rotations and one-to-one interventions during lessons.
- Formative Tracking: Assess student comprehension systematically, adjust teaching pacing in real time, and record progress against national milestones.
- Inclusion Strategies: Liaise with the SENCO and inclusion coordinators to execute tailored adjustments for children with SEND, ADHD, autism, or English as an additional language.
- Community Engagement: Build supportive, professional relationships with parents through drop-offs, parents' evenings, and school events to strengthen home learning habits.
What We Are Looking For
- Essential Credentials: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required. Open to experienced primary teachers looking for a new challenge or ambitious ECTs with strong UK school placements.
- Classroom Expertise: Practical command of Key Stage curriculum objectives, proactive behaviour management, and adaptive differentiation techniques.
- Personal Attributes: A dependable, composed, and encouraging professional presence that keeps children focused, motivated, and happy in class.
- Whole-School Commitment: A collaborative spirit willing to contribute to departmental planning, school initiatives, and rigorous safeguarding standards.
- Compliance Checks: Current Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or readiness to process one via Randstad).
