Are you an imaginative practitioner who excels at bringing the National Curriculum to life with energy, clarity, and purpose?
Can you establish an inclusive, purposeful classroom atmosphere where children build resilience, take pride in their efforts, and support one another?
Would you like to take on a stable, ongoing class teaching assignment that offers dependable multi-term continuity at a thriving primary school?
Randstad Education is currently partnering with an established partner Primary School in Watford to appoint a dedicated Primary Teacher (QTS mandatory) on a full-time, long-term contract. Catering to pupils across the primary phases, the school pairs high academic expectations with an encouraging pastoral ethos focused on pupil well-being. We are looking for an adaptable, forward-thinking teacher ready to manage their own form of class, design differentiated learning experiences, deploy support staff strategically, and foster strong working relationships across the school community.
Core Responsibilities
- Tailored Lesson Planning & Delivery: Formulate and teach stimulating lessons aligned with national standards, ensuring high achievers are stretched while providing clear access points for children working towards expected targets.
- Foundational Subject Standards: Use concrete apparatus, structured reading interventions, and systematic phonics schemes to build confidence and competence across English and mathematics.
- Classroom Team Guidance: Coordinate and direct assigned room Teaching Assistants effectively, ensuring guided group activities and 1:1 interventions run smoothly.
- Formative Progress Monitoring: Evaluate pupil comprehension systematically, log progress against national assessment benchmarks, and intervene early when additional support is required.
- Inclusion & Differentiation: Collaborate with the SENCO and phase coordinators to implement practical adjustments and interventions for pupils with SEND, EAL, or additional needs.
- Family Engagement: Maintain approachable, professional dialogue with parents and carers to share learning milestones and strengthen home-school partnerships.
Candidate Requirements
- Teaching Credentials: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required. Open to experienced primary teachers as well as ambitious Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with strong UK classroom placements.
- Curriculum Command: Strong working knowledge of primary curriculum objectives, adaptive planning techniques, and positive behaviour management systems.
- Classroom Presence: A calm, patient, and motivating demeanour capable of capturing pupils' interest and maintaining a safe, orderly environment.
- Collaborative Mindset: A proactive team approach committed to whole-school success, child protection, and pupil welfare.
- Safeguarding Vetting: Valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or readiness to complete a check via Randstad).
