We are working with a wide range of vibrant secondary schools across Liverpool who are seeking Teaching Assistants to join their teams this September.
Whether you're experienced in the classroom or just starting out, this is the perfect opportunity to grow your skills and impact student development first-hand.
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be a vital part of the classroom environment - helping pupils succeed academically, emotionally, and socially. You'll support the class teacher with lesson preparation, assist pupils with their work, and sometimes provide 1:1 or small group support.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct classroom support: Assist the class teacher with daily teaching, ensuring lessons run smoothly and pupils remain engaged.
- Support individual learning: Deliver targeted 1:1 support for pupils who need help accessing the curriculum - including those with additional needs.
- Facilitate small group interventions: Work with groups of students on literacy, numeracy, or social/emotional activities designed to close gaps in learning.
- Help with behaviour and engagement: Encourage positive behaviour and gently manage any disruptive moments using school-wide behaviour strategies.
- Prepare classroom resources: Organise learning materials, displays, and visual aids to support teaching and enrich the classroom environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks: Help record pupil progress, maintain files, and provide feedback to the teacher or SENCO.
- Safeguard and supervise: Supervise children during lessons, break, and lunch while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
Skills & Qualifications:
- TA qualification (Level 2 or 3 preferred), or relevant childcare/youth experience.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A team player with a proactive, flexible attitude.
- Strong Communication Skills and Behaviour Management Techniques
- Adaptability and Flexibility.
