We are currently recruiting committed and motivated Teaching Assistants (TAs) for a number of fantastic secondary schools across Sefton. With the new academic year approaching, this is a great time to join dynamic school teams and play a vital role in student's education journeys.

As a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school, your role is to support teachers and pupils to ensure high-quality learning takes place in and beyond the classroom. You'll be helping students stay focused, overcome challenges, and develop confidence in their learning.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to students across KS3 and KS4, both 1:1 and in small groups.
- Support students with additional learning needs.
- Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging lessons.
- Encourage student participation and boost confidence and engagement.
- Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support students during exams, assessments, and independent tasks.
- Supervise break and lunch duties where needed.
- Prepare and maintain classroom resources and learning materials.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with secondary-aged children (either in school or youth/community settings).
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one).
- A proactive, caring, and patient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
- A genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
