About the Role - Full Time, ASAP Start
Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at a well-regarded secondary school in Leeds. This is a full-time, rewarding opportunity to start immediately. This vital position involves working within the school's established inclusion faculty, often focusing on specialist provisions designed to support vulnerable learners, including those with SEMH and complex SEND. The role requires a proactive and empathetic approach, working closely with teaching staff to ensure students overcome barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with identified SEMH and SEND.
- Assist in the delivery of a modified curriculum within specialist provisions.
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the school community.
- Support the class teacher in managing the classroom environment and resources.
- Implement agreed behaviour management strategies and positive handling techniques.
- Contribute to the assessment, planning, and review process for students with SEND.
- Supervise students during out-of-lesson times, including breaks and lunch.
- Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with supported students.
- Liaise with the SENDCo and external agencies as directed by the Inclusion Lead.
- Encourage student independence and self-regulation skills.
