SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant | Primary School Support

We are seeking a full-time, temporary Teaching Assistant to provide focused, individual support to a specific child within our welcoming primary school environment. The Role
The core focus of this position is to support one child across all areas of the primary curriculum. You will be responsible for implementing the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan, adapting activities as necessary, and assisting in the management of any specific learning, communication, or emotional needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to track progress, foster independence, and ensure the child is fully included in school life.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a highly patient, resilient, and proactive individual who:
Has previous experience working with primary-aged children with special educational needs (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, communication difficulties, or specific learning needs).
Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both with the pupil and with school staff/parents.
Is able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Is committed to promoting the highest levels of inclusion and independence for the pupil.
Holds relevant qualifications in supporting teaching and learning or special educational needs (desirable).
Key Responsibilities
You will provide tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day, deliver targeted intervention sessions, assist the pupil in navigating social and emotional situations, help monitor and record the pupil's progress and behaviour, and prepare resources specific to the pupil's learning needs.
