A Role Built on Care and Connection
The main purpose of this role is to support the children with their learning and general wellbeing. You will be crucial in fostering a positive, safe, and nurturing atmosphere for every pupil.
Holistic Support: You will support children's learning and ensure they feel safe and able to learn and enjoy their time at school.
Welfare and Personal Care: A key part of the role involves ensuring a high standard of personal care and carefully monitoring the health and wellbeing of pupils. This includes attending to pupils' personal needs when required, such as toileting, hygiene, dressing and eating.
Community Contribution: You will contribute to the community life of the school by taking an active part in the preparation and celebration of both community and multi-cultural events.
Positive Behaviour: You will support positive behaviour and concentration levels, adopting a tailored approach to the individual child.

Attitude: A commitment to the role, the desire to put the child first and treat them as an individual. You should be positive and creative in meeting pupils' needs.
Experience & Knowledge: Previous experience (at least one year) of working within a relevant SEND Provision is required. Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures is essential.
Collaboration: A willingness to work co-operatively with colleagues, parents/carers and professionals involved. Good interpersonal skills are key.
Qualifications: Level 2 award in supporting teaching and learning in schools or equivalent, or the willingness to work towards it.

Training: You will be required to participate in regular training and other learning activities, supervision, and appraisal.

Flexibility Note: While this is a committed role requiring staff to respond to the varying and changing needs of the school , availability and involvement in activities outside of the school and of the school day may occasionally be required.
