SEMH Teaching Assistant - Horley | Full Time
Location: Horley
Salary: £22,000 - £23,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:15pm
We are currently recruiting for a committed and emotionally resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist setting in Horley.
This role involves working with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, many of whom require consistent structure, clear boundaries, and positive role modelling to thrive in education.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
Assisting with differentiated learning activities
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Promoting engagement, independence, and self-confidence
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or vulnerable young people
A calm, patient, and firm approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
