The Role of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, individuals will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal development of pupils.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing tailored support to pupils within the classroom setting.
- Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and preparation.
- Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs and behavioural development.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
Candidate Requirements:
The school is looking for candidates who possess:
- GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
- A minimum of six month's experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in either a paid or voluntary capacity.
- A genuine desire to work with and support young people with SEMH.
- A willingness to pursue further qualifications and engage in continuous professional development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
