The Role
We are seeking a proactive and resilient Teaching Assistant to join the school's support team for the final term of the year. You will work closely with the SENCO to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 who require additional guidance to reach their potential. This role is ideal for an individual who can balance academic support with a firm but empathetic approach to behaviour management.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group interventions for students with additional learning needs.
Implement "trigger awareness" strategies to de-escalate challenging situations before they arise.
Support the delivery of the KS3/KS4 curriculum, helping students to access lesson content and stay on task.
Maintain detailed records of student progress and contribute to EHCP reviews.
Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Minimum of 6 months' experience working in a UK school setting is essential.
Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one immediately).
Local Insight: You should be local to the Rochdale area to ensure reliable attendance.
Behaviour Management: Strong skills in managing classroom dynamics and a deep understanding of student triggers.
Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with the KS3 and KS4 National Curriculum is highly advantageous.
