We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Surrey-based SEN school for young people aged 7-16 who display challenging behaviours.
TasksYour primary responsibilities will include providing individual and group support to students, assisting with classroom management, and implementing behaviour management strategies. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and supportive learning environment. Specific duties may include: preparing learning materials, assisting with practical tasks, monitoring student progress, and contributing to individualised education programs (IEPs).
SkillsThe ideal candidate will possess significant experience working with students with SEN in a UK setting. Experience managing challenging behaviours is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, as is the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are key attributes for success in this role.
