We have a fantastic Locum Team Manager Opportunity based within a Children In Need Team in Bury, Greater Manchester. You will lead the team of social workers delivering statutory services to children in need, those subject to child protection plans, and those in care. The role includes oversight of caseloads, quality assurance of practice, and development of team performance.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of Social Workers and Assistant Team Managers
- Oversee duty service and ensure timely responses to referrals
- Chair key meetings including strategy discussions and core groups
- Support and guide complex safeguarding decisions
- Monitor and allocate team caseloads effectively
- Drive quality assurance through audits, supervision, and feedback
- Represent the Local Authority in court and multi-agency settings
- Deliver training, support professional development, and build team capacity
- Manage team budgets and resources responsibly
- Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
To be considered for the Team Manager role:
- CQSW, DIPSW, BA HONS SW or equivalent
- Social Work England registration
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualifying experience in child protection and fieldwork
- Proven leadership or management experience in a statutory children's setting
- Strong decision-making, safeguarding, and risk assessment skills
