Job Title: Telehandler / Telescopic Handler Driver
Location: Maidstone, Kent
Contract Duration: Long-Term / Ongoing
Pay Rate: £20.00 - £21.00 per hour (dependent on experience and pay type)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and safety-conscious Telehandler Driver to join a busy residential housing project in Maidstone.
This is a long-term position offering competitive pay rates, consistent weekly hours, and steady work alongside a main contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operating a Telescopic Handler to transport materials, pallets, and plant across a busy building site.
- Unloading incoming delivery HGVs and loading materials safely to elevated scaffold platforms and work areas.
- Assisting site trades (bricklayers, carpenters, groundworkers) by keeping work zones supplied with materials.
- Carrying out daily pre-shift machinery inspections, basic maintenance checks, and logging defects.
- Adhering strictly to site traffic management plans, safety protocols, and load limits.
- Willingness to step off the machine to assist with general site duties during downtime.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid CPCS Card (Telescopic Handler category A17 essential-Blue Competent Operator preferred).
- Full PPE (Steel toe-cap boots, high-vis vest/jacket, hard hat, and safety gloves).
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience operating telehandlers on active construction sites.
- Strong understanding of site logistics, load charts, and working safely on uneven terrain.
- Punctual, reliable, and strong communication skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
Working Hours & Benefits
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (40-45 hours per week).
- Pay Rate: £20.00 - £21.00 per hour (paid weekly via CIS or Umbrella).
- Duration: Ongoing long-term contract.
- Free on-site parking available.
