The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated individual to join our team as a Trainee Teacher. This is a fantastic permanent opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with SEN, who is eager to develop their teaching career within a supportive and specialised environment. You will receive comprehensive training and mentoring, working alongside experienced SEN educators to build your skills and confidence.
Key Responsibilities (with training and support):
- Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging and differentiated lessons across a broad curriculum, particularly focusing on Maths and English, tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN.
- Support students in developing their academic, social, emotional, and independent living skills.
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a holistic learning experience for each student.
- Contribute to the assessment and tracking of student progress, identifying areas for development and celebrating achievements.
- Participate actively in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues.
What We Are Looking For:
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs.
- GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or higher are required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, resilience, and a positive attitude.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to learn.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, various special educational needs.
