We are recruiting for a highly motivated Transport Planner to join a major industrial manufacturing and logistics operation. This is a key operational role responsible for the end-to-end planning and management of global customer shipments.

Contract: 12-Month Contract
Pay Rate: Up to £17.50 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week (Rotating Shifts)
Shift 1: Mon-Thu 08:30 - 16:30 | Fri 08:30 - 16:00
Shift 2: Mon-Thu 10:30 - 18:30 | Fri 11:00 - 18:30
In this role, you will ensure customer shipments leave on time by coordinating with internal departments (Customer Services, Warehouse) and external carriers. Your daily duties will include:
Shipment Planning: Managing customer orders for a global network of distribution partners.
Documentation: completing export documentation, including proformas, labels, and shipping notes.
System Management: Planning labels through SAP and shipping systems, ensuring the correct paperwork matches the correct carrier and customer.
Carrier Liaison: Booking time-sensitive collections, pre-alerting carriers, and declaring end-of-day shipping activity for European exports.
Problem Solving: Managing exceptions to resolution and facilitating the freight invoice process.
Data Handling: utilising spreadsheets for tracking and reporting.
To succeed in this role, you must be organised, flexible, and able to work under pressure.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong administrative background. Experience in warehousing is transferable and welcomed, but retail backgrounds are not suitable for this specific technical environment.
You must be proficient in Excel
Ability to use your own initiative to resolve problems and work positively within a team.
Demonstrated experience using SAP
Knowledge of Export Regulations
