Working in the Community
Randstad Education Leeds has always maintained strong links with the school communities we serve and is proud to have a reputation within the local market for being friendly and supportive. As part of our on-going commitment to our schools we work closely in supporting them with needs other than teaching and support staff. We deliver regular CV writing, interview tips and mock interview sessions to Secondary school pupils and NEETs in the community, offering advice and guidance to help prepare them for the working world. We work closely with a number of secondary schools offering a variety of workshops and help to facilitate Enterprise days. We regularly participate in work placements where we give pupils skills and knowledge to prepare them for working in a busy office environment. Our consultants regularly spend time in schools supporting sports days, open days, trips, preparing pack lunches for Duke of Edinburgh trips and even offering support in classes.
Randstad as a company have recently teamed up with a Charity called BEAT to deliver self-esteem workshops to KS3 pupils. Working with life coaches and teachers the workshops are designed at raising self-esteem and promoting respect amongst peers and a number of schools locally have benefited from these charitable sessions. Competitions are organised across our local authorities to design cards and posters for various events and celebrations and at Christmas we donate Selection boxes to groups of disadvantaged young people.
We have presented at local head teacher cluster meetings and schools to keep them informed of changes such as AWR, Pensions & Pay and conditions. We have recently held a seminar in Leeds for schools and businesses throughout Yorkshire aimed at building a high performance culture within teams featuring a special guest, Susie Wolff, the female Development Driver for the Williams F1 team. We are always open to new ideas and offer to support and help our schools in any way we can.
