We have an initially temporary Sourcing Assistant role available with Tata Steel's Port Talbot or Llanwern works. The successful applicant will be an individual who would consider themselves to be IT literate, hold a 'can do' attitude and be able to work upon own initiative.
Role: Sourcing Assistant
Location: Tata Steel, Port Talbot, SA13 2NG OR Tata Steel, Llanwern, NP19 4QZ
This role is office based with remote working opportunity of X2 days home working per week
Rate: £13.17ph (£25,000 per annum)
Contract length: 12 months
Shift Patterns: Mon-Fri, 36.5 hours per week. Mon-Thu 08:30-16:45 and Fri 08:30-15:45
Start: ASAP but pending the successful result of a medical assessment. This does involve a drug and alcohol test.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the team with the purchase requisition process and all administration associated with this
- Operating within an IT Procurement focused environment
- Managing the teams central inbox and forwarding escalations accordingly
- Handling majority of email queries to the central inbox and aiming to resolve effectively first time
- Using MS word, excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and Power Apps to process, maintain and update information for the department
- Working with SAP in relation to purchase requisition and invoicing
- Providing support to the department with administration tasks associated with invoicing
- Understanding and supporting with the Purchase to Pay process
- Liaising with stakeholders internally and externally face to face, over the telephone, virtually and over email
Essential requirements:
- Driving licence and access to own vehicle (due to the size and nature of the site)
- Previous experience within an office environment and administrative role
- Strong verbal and written communication skill
- Good IT literacy, especially with MS office including Word, Outlook, teams and Excel
- Prior experience managing a central email inbox
- Sound numeracy skill
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Capability of using own initiative and applying a proactive approach to tasks
- Previous experience within IT and/or procurement (highly desirable)
- Knowledge and experience of SAP (highly desirable)
