Randstad are seeking a production-focused leader to join a Tier 1 Contractor in Plymouth. This role sits within a specialist delivery unit responsible for critical water-retaining structures on a landmark infrastructure project.
We need someone who has transitioned from a technical engineering background into management-someone who understands complex concrete pours and can navigate the logistical challenges of a high-consequence site.
The Role
Location: Plymouth, Devon
Contract: Long-term (Multi-year project stability)
Team: Specialist Delivery (Water-Retaining Structures)
Focus: Overseeing the safe, profitable, and technically compliant delivery of major civil packages.
The Ideal Candidate
This requires a Site Agent who is technically sharp and comes from a Heavy Civils/RC background.
You should bring:
Engineering Roots: A career built on a foundation of site engineering, specifically managing reinforced concrete (RC) and complex structural works.
Specialist Knowledge: While not essential to have worked on this specific team before, you must understand the precision required for water-tightness, high-durability mixes, and structural integrity.
Operational Drive: Proven ability to manage a team of Section and Site Engineers, ensuring the program stays on track without sacrificing Tier 1 quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the daily operations for the delivery team, ensuring all works align with the master program.
Oversee the technical interface, ensuring Method Statements (RAMS) and ITPs are robust and strictly followed.
Manage resources, plant, and subcontractors to maximize efficiency on complex, large-scale pours.
Act as a key point of contact for the client, providing clear updates on progress, quality, and safety performance.
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Proven experience as a Site Agent or Senior Engineer on Heavy Civils or Marine projects.
Valid CSCS (Black), SMSTS, and First Aid.
Strong commercial awareness and a track record of driving "Right First Time" delivery.
