Assistant Management Accountant
Group Management Accountant - Croydon
Role objective:
To work closely with the Group Management Accountant to assist with the production of the monthly management accounts pack including management information, group debt reporting, cashflow forecasting and
variance analysis, including ad-hoc management information reporting,
budgeting and year end audits.
Duties Include:
General Responsibilities
* Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies
are resolved promptly.
* Posting intercompany journals and ensuring accuracy when doing so.
* Assist in the preparation and coordination of audits, providing necessary documentation and
responding to auditor inquiries.
* Support the budgeting process by gathering data, preparing reports, and assisting in budget
analysis.
* Assist with the preparation and submission of the quarterly VAT return, ensuring compliance with
relevant regulations and deadlines.
* Provide cover for absences of both purchase ledger and sales ledger staff, ensuring continuity of
operations.

* Provide support and guidance to junior finance team members, assisting with tasks and
addressing queries.
* Completing and returning ad-hoc reports with high level of accuracy and speed.
* Assistance with any other finance task as and when required.
Month-End Responsibilities - Assist the GMA with month-end processes, including:
* Monthly production and distribution of management accounts.
* Preparing and posting prepayments and accruals.
* Conducting intercompany reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
* Preparing group split journals to allocate costs appropriately.
* Maintaining and updating the fixed asset register, ensuring all assets are accurately recorded and
depreciated.
* Production of the monthly cashflow forecast.
* Reconciliation of site management accounts back to the company management accounts.
* Variance analysis of site management accounts before the reporting day to ensure revenue and
costs are all correctly reported, and any large variance identified and answered for.
