Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Group Management Accountant, your role will be diverse and hands-on, covering critical aspects of our financial operations. Your main objective will be to support the production of the monthly management accounts pack, including management information, group debt reporting, cashflow forecasting, and variance analysis.
Daily & General Responsibilities:
- Perform precise bank reconciliations
- Accurately post intercompany journals.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of audits, providing necessary documentation
- Support the budgeting process
- Help prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
- Offer support and guidance to junior finance team members
Month-End Focus:
- Contribute to the monthly production of management accounts.
- Prepare and post prepayments and accruals
- Conduct intercompany reconciliations for reporting
- Prepare group split journals to allocate costs correctly
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register
- Produce the monthly cashflow forecast.
- Reconcile site management accounts
Who We're Looking For: Skills & Experience
- Part-qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or actively studying towards)
- Proven experience in a similar Assistant Management Accountant or financial accounting role
- Strong understanding of month-end processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Strong Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn and develop.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
