We are seeking a proactive and driven Assistant SENCO to join our forward-thinking special school in Effingham, Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual with experience supporting young people with Autism to step into a leadership role and help shape the future of our students' educational journeys.
What You'll Be Doing
This role is about more than just administration-it's about making a tangible impact on the lives of our students. You'll work directly with our SENCO to:
Lead and manage the daily SEN provision across the school.
Mentor and advise teachers on effective strategies for students with Autism and other communication difficulties.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our interventions, using data to inform decision-making.
Build strong partnerships with parents and external agencies to ensure our support is comprehensive and holistic.
Drive professional development for staff, helping to foster a school-wide culture of excellence in SEN provision.

Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic practitioner with a deep understanding of the unique needs of students with Autism. We are seeking someone who is passionate, resilient, and ready to take on a leadership challenge.
Key requirements:
Experience in a SENCO or similar special educational needs role is highly preferred.
A minimum of GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or equivalent) is essential.
A teaching qualification is a plus, as it is required to achieve the National Award in SEND Coordination. We will support you in gaining this qualification if needed.
