We are dedicated to providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors. We take pride in our facilities and are looking for a dedicated and proactive Assistant Site Supervisor to join our team and help ensure our grounds and buildings are maintained to the highest standards.
The Role
As an Assistant Site Supervisor, you will work closely with the Site Manager and Facilities Manager to oversee the security, cleanliness, and overall maintenance of the academy premises. This is a hands-on role where you will play a vital part in the daily smooth running of the site, from ensuring the buildings are warm and secure to assisting with general maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Security: Act as a first key holder on a rota basis, managing the opening/locking of the site, patrolling, monitoring visitor identity, and responding to emergency call-outs.
- Health, Safety & Maintenance: Identify and carry out minor repairs, clear hazards (including snow and grit during winter), and ensure equipment, machinery, and utilities are operating safely and efficiently.
- Cleaning & Housekeeping: Take ownership of designated cleaning areas, support "deep cleaning" tasks during academy holidays (e.g., painting and floor maintenance), and ensure waste is safely managed.
- Grounds & Utilities: Maintain the external grounds (litter clearing, weeding, and checking drains) and take weekly utility meter readings.
- Operations & Transport: Assist with the porterage of goods and furniture, manage deliveries, monitor site stock (like cleaning supplies and lightbulbs), and conduct weekly safety checks on academy vehicles.
- Events Support: Ensure the site is prepared, set up, and secured for academy events and external lettings, including occasional weekend activities.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Be practical, proactive, and capable of exercising good judgment when carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Possess a strong understanding of Health and Safety requirements, including the appropriate use of PPE.
- Be a collaborative team player willing to work flexibly alongside site staff and contractors.
- Demonstrate high professional standards, complying fully with Trust policies including Equal Opportunities, Child Protection, Data Protection, and Health & Safety.
If you are reliable, hard-working, and want to contribute to a safe and thriving educational environment, we would love to hear from you!
