Start Date: Immediate (Monday 30th November or 2nd January start available)
About the Role
Are you a dedicated FE Tutor or Secondary Teacher with a passion for sports, physical education, and literacy? Randstad Education is currently recruiting a dynamic BTEC Sport & Functional Skills English Tutor to deliver BTEC Level 2 & Level 3 Sport courses, alongside embedding and teaching Functional Skills English.
This role is ideal for a passionate educator who excels in teaching practical/theoretical sports topics, delivering Functional Skills English, and marking coursework to guide students through vocational qualification pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess BTEC Level 2 and Level 3 Sport qualifications.
- Teach and deliver Functional Skills English to support post-16 learners in achieving core literacy qualifications.
- Mark coursework, assignments, and practical assessments in line with exam board standards.
- Provide constructive feedback and academic support to help students meet their target grades and post-18 destinations.
- Create an engaging, structured classroom and practical environment that promotes a passion for sport, PE, and literacy.
- Monitor student progress, attendance, and coursework completion deadlines.
Requirements:
- Teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training) or relevant FE tutoring experience.
- Proven experience teaching and marking BTEC Level 2 and/or Level 3 Sport.
- Competence and experience in teaching Functional Skills English to post-16 or secondary students.
- Genuine passion for sport, PE, English literacy, teaching, and supporting learner development.
- Essential: Safeguarding, Prevent, and Allergy Training completed within the last 12 months (or a commitment to complete these prior to placement to meet full GCA clearance standards, which Randstad is compliant with).
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or commitment to apply for one).
- Right to work in the UK.
