Join our multi-disciplinary team as a Care Worker and make a real difference in the lives of older service users. As we carry out our work in Christ's name, you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it.
This role involves working on a rota basis, which includes weekend and evening work.
Key Responsibilities (Main Duties)
The general tasks required of the Care Worker include, but are not limited to:
- Key Worker Duties: Acting as a key worker for designated service users and being responsible for compiling, monitoring, and reviewing care plans in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- Personal Care and Support: Assisting service users with personal and intimate care , and helping them access and use any necessary aids and personal equipment.
- Health and Wellness:
- Assisting in the promotion of mental and physical activity as detailed in individual care plans.
- Assisting with monitoring and reviewing nutritional needs in line with the care plan.
- Liaising with appropriate health professionals during times of service users' illness or at the end of life.
- Environment and Effects: Ensuring the service users' physical environment is maintained to a high standard. You will also ensure their clothing and effects are personalised and maintained to a high standard.
- Administrative & Communication:
- Reading and writing reports in line with Policy and Procedures and SSSC codes of conduct.
- Answering emergency bells, the door, and the telephone, and greeting visitors professionally.
- Participating in staff and service users meetings as required.
- Spiritual Support: You are expected to have respect for all aspects of Christian worship and facilitate service users to attend Christian worship (or worship of choice as required by the role).
- Compliance: Complying with all Health and Safety requirements and financial procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualifications: Ideally, you will possess an SVQ 3 in Social Care. If you do not have this qualification, you will be expected to achieve an SVQ 3 within a specified period of time.
- Skills: You must possess basic computer literacy skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and the internet for completing mandatory e-learning courses.
- Training: You will be required to undertake any training deemed necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.

- Vetting: This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks.
- Registration: This post requires you to be registered with SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council), and it is your professional responsibility to ensure you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
