We have a fantastic Locum Consultant Social Work Opportunity based within the Family Support and Protection Service in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.
The local authority is currently undergoing an exciting transformation, implementing the Family Safeguarding Model. Multi-disciplinary teams are being established, bringing specialist practitioners and social workers together under one management structure. This role is key to embedding this model, supporting the ASYE cohort during a pivotal period of change.

Responsibilities:
- Supporting and mentoring up to 12 ASYE Social Workers
- Role modelling good practice in assessment, planning, and intervention
- Completing direct observations and reflective discussions
- Developing and delivering bespoke training
- Contributing to performance management and quality assurance
- Supporting ASYEs with report writing and attending key meetings
- Liaising with the Workforce Development Team to enhance learning
- Promoting a culture of learning, support, and professional growth
To be considered for the Consultant Social Worker role:
- 3+ years' post-qualified experience in Children's Services
- Proven experience across assessment, child protection, and care proceedings
- Social Work England registration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in supporting ASYEs and/or Practice Educator status (desirable)
