Are you a confident communicator looking to transition into the classroom, or an experienced educator seeking a role without the pressures of full planning and marking?
Do you have the drive to manage classroom dynamics and inspire students in a vibrant academy setting?
We are seeking a proactive and resilient Cover Supervisor / Instructor for a full-time, temporary position at a forward-thinking secondary school situated near Feltwell. This role is ideal for those who possess strong presence and the ability to lead a room, ensuring that learning continues effectively in the absence of the regular subject teacher. Located conveniently between King's Lynn and Mildenhall, this is an excellent opportunity for drivers in the region to secure a stable, high-impact role in a supportive educational environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Classroom Management: Lead pre-planned lessons across various subjects, ensuring students stay on task and maintain a productive learning atmosphere.
- Instructional Support: Explain learning objectives clearly and assist students with their work, providing guidance and encouragement throughout the lesson.
- Behaviour Leadership: Consistently apply the school's behaviour policy, managing the classroom with a firm but fair approach to ensure a respectful environment.
- Administrative Accuracy: Follow teacher instructions strictly, collect completed work at the end of the session, and provide detailed handover notes for returning staff.
- Student Welfare: Act as a positive role model, fostering a culture of high aspirations and helping students navigate their daily school routine.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Confidence & Presence: The ability to command a classroom of 30 students and manage diverse personalities effectively.
- Adaptability: A "can-do" attitude and the flexibility to jump into different subject areas-from Science to Humanities-at a moment's notice.
- Location & Access: Ideally a driver based in King's Lynn, Mildenhall, or Thetford, as the school is situated in a rural location not easily reached by public transport.
- Experience: Prior experience working with young people (coaching, youth work, or tutoring) is highly desirable, though we welcome graduates looking for classroom experience.
- Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad).
