About the Role
This is an incredibly dynamic and vital role within the school's daily ecosystem. Operating in a third-person capacity, the Cover Supervisor stands as the front line lead in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Rather than active teaching or lesson planning, the primary focus of this position is to manage Behaviour, keep pupils focused on pre-set work, and ensure a safe, productive learning environment across various subjects. It is a full-time, long-term position commencing this September, designed specifically as a temporary-to-permanent track-giving the successful candidate the ideal opportunity to integrate into the school community permanently.

Key Requirements
... - Prior experience working with young people aged 11-16 (e.g., as a sports coach, camp counsellor, tutor, or teaching assistant).
- Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS clearance registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
- Strong, professional references covering the last two years of employment or academic study.
- Eligibility to Work: Valid legal entitlement to work full-time in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise undergraduate and high school classes across years 7 to 11 in the absence of the timetabled teacher.
- Deliver and explain pre-prepared lesson plans and learning objectives left by the subject teacher.
- Maintain high expectations of behaviour within the classroom, implementing the school's behaviour policy firmly and fairly.
- Assist students with their queries and guide them through the allocated tasks to ensure high productivity.
- Ensure a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collect all completed work at the end of each period and return it safely to the appropriate department.
- Provide detailed written feedback for the returning teacher regarding student progress, behaviour, and any outstanding issues.
- Register student attendance at the start of every session accurately using the school's digital portal.
- Respond to immediate, unexpected classroom situations or emergencies in line with school safety protocols.
- Support wider school operations when required, including supervising break times, assemblies, or registration periods.
