- Work Delivery: Distribute and explain the cover work set by the department, assisting students with queries across various subjects (from English to Science).
- Safe Environment: Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students during the lesson, managing classroom transitions and dismissals efficiently.
- Reporting: Provide detailed feedback to the regular class teacher regarding student progress, behavior, and any completed work.
- Adaptability: Transition smoothly between different subject areas throughout the school day, bringing high energy and a positive attitude to every session.
- Non-Teaching Support: When not covering a lesson, you may be asked to assist with registrations, break duties, or administrative support within the school.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Confidence & Presence: The ability to command respect and manage large groups of teenagers with a firm but fair approach.
- Experience: Prior experience working with young people (ages 11-16) is highly desirable-this could be in a school, coaching, youth work, or mentoring capacity.
- Educational Background: A degree is preferred, but not mandatory for candidates with significant relevant experience.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication and the ability to simplify instructions for students of varying abilities.
- Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad).
