About the School & Role
Randstad is seeking to recruit a dedicated Data Manager and Assistant Business Manager. Guided by the school vision of "Achievement for all in a unique, world-class school," you will be working positively with a richly diverse community to support student success.
In this dual-capacity role, you will be a vital member of the extended leadership team. You will act as the school's MIS and data expert while also deputising for the School Business Manager in her absence. This includes ensuring that the Human Resources, Facilities Management, Health and Safety, and IT functions remain efficient, compliant, and highly effective.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & School Operations: Lead, manage, and develop the two Admin Offices and administrative support staff (including the PA to SLT, Data and Cover Officer, and Receptionist). You will conduct appraisals, manage workflows, monitor budgets, and strategic plan alongside the SLT.
- Data & MIS Management: Serve as the school's MIS super-user. You will oversee the accurate maintenance of pupil and staff databases, load annual intakes, manage end-of-year promotion mapping, and prepare statutory DfE returns (e.g., workforce and pupil census).
- Assessment & Reporting: Create clear timetables for data collection and produce regular analysis summary reports tracking pupil achievement, attendance, and behavior. You will evaluate variations between cohorts (ethnicity, gender, FSM) to help teachers monitor student progress.
- Examinations Management: Act as the School Examination Officer, managing the annual exam cycle. This includes timetabling, managing centre registrations, secure storage of papers, training/deploying invigilators, and overseeing results day.
- HR & Compliance: Manage safer recruitment administrative checks (DBS, Occupational Health, Section 128, etc.), maintain the Single Central Record (SCR), update statutory training records, and submit monthly payroll sickness/absence returns.
- Data Protection: Act as the primary link to the Data Protection Officer (DPO), managing GDPR compliance, responding to FOI/Subject Access Requests, and maintaining privacy policies.

Essential (E):
- Significant experience in data management, MIS administration, and reporting within an educational or comparable environment.

- Experience producing statutory returns, census submissions, and managing confidential records.
- Experience leading or supporting examination administration processes.
- An enthusiastic commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and the shared vision of the school.
Desirable (D):
- Experience with school admissions administration and pupil record management.
