esidential Support Worker team and any ancillary staff, along with the day-to-day
supervisory responsibilities of those staff so decided by the Registered Manager.
The main responsibilities include:
Maintain a high level of professionalism and competency in all duties and when representing the company externally.
Work flexible hours to accommodate the needs of the home.
Assist the Registered Manager in developing and maintaining staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage and compliance with contractual obligations.
Identify and report care deficits and staff training needs to the Registered Manager promptly and effectively.
Provide formal and informal training to staff as required.
Support the Registered Manager in the overall management of the home, including day-to-day operations and the quality of life for the young people.
Demonstrate strong team leadership, staff coordination, and serve as a role model for staff.
Perform key worker duties, including assessments, care planning, documentation, and participation in meetings.
Ensure effective communication channels are established and maintained within the home, and that staff are well-informed of their duties and responsibilities.
Adhere to the company's Standard Operating Procedures and ensure other staff comply as well.
Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and welfare matters, including fire precautions, to minimise risks.
Ensure all relevant notifications and incident reports are made in accordance with statutory and company requirements.
Ensure the highest level of care and well-being for the young people, reflective of their needs and backgrounds.
Manage admissions in the absence of the Registered Manager.
Encourage the individuality and independence of the young people.
Assist in the efficient management of the home's resources.
Ensure young people receive appropriate medical, dental, and ancillary care.
Encourage and participate in social activities for the young people.
Address any health, safety, or safeguarding concerns immediately and appropriately.
Foster positive relationships with the local community.
Comply with all statutory legislation and regulations, such as National Minimum Standards and Children's Homes Regulations.
Contribute to reports, attend meetings, and cooperate with Social Services and other professionals
Maintain responsible behaviour and uphold the good name of the company and the home.
Undertake any other duties as required for the effective management of the home.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
Must possess or be actively working towards a Diploma Level 5 in Leadership & Management.
Excellent communication skills are required.
Must demonstrate excellent teamwork abilities.
Comprehensive understanding of the care needs and plans of the young people at the placement, as well as the general needs of Looked After Children/young adults.
Willingness to undertake training as directed by the Registered Manager.
Capacity to assume higher levels of professional responsibility.
Ability to identify professional, care, and training needs for both oneself and other staff members.
Must hold a full driving license.
The position involves a 24-hour rota system, including evenings and weekends, with 28 days of annual leave.
