We are recruiting for two Deputy Managers for our client who offers high-quality therapeutic care and accommodation in a family-like environment for children and young people. The organisation has been operational for 20 years and has homes in the North West and in Birmingham
Deputy Manager (Birmingham) - Key Details:
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 per annum.
Main Duties Include:
- Upholding the Statement of Purpose and company ethos.
- Monitoring staff practice, developing skills, and building relationships with young people.
- Deputising for the Registered Manager (attending meetings, etc.).
- Completing on-call duties.
- Promoting welfare, development, anti-discriminatory practice, and equality.
- Devising, implementing, and reviewing care Plans.
- Ensuring a safe and sensitive environment.
- Supporting young people in crisis and working towards positive outcomes.
- Overseeing development, monitoring, reviewing, and implementing young people's files, Risk Assessments, and ICMP's.
- Maintaining good relationships with external professionals (parents, social workers, schools).
- Assisting in preparing professional progress, review reports, and Notifiable Incident forms.
- Promoting participation of young people and staff in decision-making.
- Supporting positive leadership and guidance for the team.
- Assisting with staff supervision and documentation, ensuring effective skill development.
- Attending and committing to personal/professional development and ensuring staff training implementation.
- Being IT competent and producing professional reports.
- Maintaining good communication systems (meetings, handovers, logging).
- Assisting with rota administration, house expenditure, resources, timesheets, maintenance, and home appearance.
- Assisting with staff welfare, offering support, and praising work.
- Overseeing individual staff roles.
- Working with educational facilitators to ensure young people reach full potential.
- Supporting the therapeutic model which will include monthly consultation and reflective practice sessions with lead therapists.
- Undertaking duties as required by Registered and Area Managers.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Possession of a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care in Residential Care (with children and young people) or an equivalent qualification is mandatory.
- A minimum of two years' experience supervising staff within the residential sector is required.
