Job Role: Deputy Care Home Manager
Salary: £39,000 per annum
Working Hours: 40 hours, flexible, with on-call support and additional hours as needed by the business
What You'll Be Doing
As the Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Care Home Manager to ensure the home is run effectively and meets all regulatory standards. Your key duties will include:
Supporting the Manager: Assisting the manager in their responsibilities, including leading and managing child care services.
Staff Leadership & Development: Participating in the induction, training, coaching, and mentoring of staff. You will oversee new staff completing the All Wales induction framework and contribute to staff induction training.
Safeguarding & Risk Management: You will be a vital part of the home's safeguarding efforts. This includes being a competent practitioner in all aspects of risk assessments, such as those related to new children, activities, and behavior.
Compliance & Administration: Ensuring staff have access to and comply with relevant legislation and guidance. You will also assist with documentation, making sure records and reports are accurate, dated, and concise.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Qualifications: A Level 4 (with Prior QCF Level 3 Health and Social Care CYP) or a Level 5 in Leadership and Management.
- Experience: A proven ability to promote dignity and respect and to challenge poor practice. You should be able to manage your own stress levels and not bring personal problems into the workplace.
Other Requirements:
Social Care for Wales (SCW) registration is a must.
Registration with the DBS update Service is also required.
A clean UK manual driver's licence.
