Randstad Education is thrilled to partner with a technology focused Alternative Provision to recruit an inspiring specialist to deliver a unique media curriculum in the Rochdale area.
The Role: This is a deeply rewarding role focused on making a real difference. You will work with small groups (4-5 pupils), initially in a 1:1 or 1:2 setting, to:
- Teach engaging media skills, including film-making, coding, video editing, and content creation.
- Re-ignite passion for learning by fostering technology skills and promoting positive peer interaction.
- Contribute to students broader educational development by discovering their unique passions.
- Collaborate with school educators to shape and design 6-12 week Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for each child, drawing on your expertise.
Our Client provides a clear, tech-based curriculum and access to high-quality equipment, including green screens, Mac-Books, editing software, and cameras. You are welcome to use your personal equipment too! The first few weeks involve shadowing experienced educators to understand how the lessons operate and build relationships with students, ensuring a smooth transition into leading your own sessions.

The ideal Media Teacher for this role will possess:
- Media Production Expertise: Proven skills in film-making, video editing, coding and content creation, with a passion for teaching these to young people.
- Experience with Neurodivergent Learners: Demonstrable experience working with neurodivergent children (e.g., Autism, ADHD) or those who find mainstream education challenging.
- Unwavering Patience & Calmness: Exceptional ability to remain calm, adaptable, and patient in a dynamic learning environment, understanding complex student needs.
- Creativity & Fun: A love for creating enjoyable, engaging, and imaginative learning experiences that reignite curiosity.
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong teamwork skills to work effectively with school educators, refine EHCPs, and communicate student progress.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Relevant Experience: A teaching qualification is highly desirable, or demonstrable extensive experience delivering educational content in a relevant setting.
- Enhanced DBS: Must have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain).
- Eligiblity to Work in the UK: Full CV with employment and education history, and legal right to work
