de specialist advice, guidance, and practical support to disabled students, helping dismantle barriers to learning, assessment, and the wider student experience.
You will work closely with current and prospective students to assess individual needs, create tailored Student Support Documents, and ensure reasonable adjustments are effectively implemented under the Equality Act 2010.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Advice & Support: Conduct confidential meetings with students to explore the impact of their condition, develop and review Student Support Documents, and signpost to internal/external services. Provide pre-enrolment advice and represent the service at Open Days and induction events.
-Reasonable Adjustments: Assess adjustment requests in line with institutional policy and legislation. Liaise directly with academic staff to advise on practical, confidential implementations and escalate high-risk cases when needed.
-DSA Support: Assist students with Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) applications and evidence gathering. Review Needs Assessment Reports, track DSA applications, and liaise with funding bodies and assessment providers.
-Caseload & Administration: Manage an allocated caseload efficiently, prioritising risk and student need. Maintain accurate case records in full compliance with UK GDPR and confidentiality guidelines.
Requirements & Experience
-Qualifications: Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in disability support, student support, social care, or education.
-Knowledge: Strong understanding of reasonable adjustments, the Equality Act 2010, the DSA process, and UK GDPR/confidentiality protocols.
-Track Record: Proven experience assessing individual student needs, handling complex cases with discretion, and managing a caseload.
-Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to work effectively alongside academic staff, external funding bodies, and parents/carers.
