About the Role
Do you have a passion for language and literature and want to help young people excel academically? We are hiring an English Academic Tutor to work full-time at a modern secondary school in Rainham.
This full-time post runs from November (or earlier) until May 2027, delivering focused English Language and Literature support across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and potentially Sixth Form. It is a fantastic entry point for graduates seeking school experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver small-group and individual English Language and Literature tutoring.
- Assist pupils in improving reading comprehension, essay structure, and critical analysis skills.
- Work closely with the English department to track pupil progress and support curriculum targets.
- Build pupil confidence in written and spoken communication.
What You Need
- Degree educated in English Language, English Literature, Linguistics, or Humanities.
- Strong literacy standards and clear communication skills.
- A warm, encouraging, and structured approach to pupil learning.
- An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
