Are you a passionate English Teacher seeking an immediate, full-time placement in an encouraging secondary school setting?
Randstad Education is currently seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join a collaborative secondary school in Newmarket. Running full-time (5 days a week) until the October half-term initially, this position carries a strong likelihood of extending through to Christmas 2026.
As an English Teacher taking on full teaching duties across the department, you will benefit from full PPA cover to support your lesson preparation, marking, and curriculum delivery, ensuring you have the time and space to deliver high-impact learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Inspiring Lessons: As an impactful English Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature sessions across KS3 and KS4 (GCSE).
- Full Curriculum Ownership with PPA Cover: Take charge of full class teaching duties, backed by full PPA cover to support lesson planning, constructive marking, and student tracking.
- Cultivate Communication & Literacy: Create an inclusive learning environment where pupils feel confident analyzing complex texts, debating ideas, and sharpening written skills.
- Support All Learners: Differentiate instruction effectively to challenge high achievers while providing structured support for students developing foundational literacy.
- Departmental Support: Collaborate closely with departmental colleagues to share resources, align with schemes of work, and maintain strong pupil progress throughout the term.
Candidate Profile
We are searching for an articulate, creative English Teacher with strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom leadership.
- Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
- Proven track record of working as an English Teacher within a UK secondary school setting.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to engage pupils of all abilities.
- Effective classroom management strategies grounded in positive encouragement and high expectations.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or readiness to process one immediately through Randstad).
