We are seeking a dedicated professional to work in the Leeds area, managing a multi-site special school for pupils aged 2 to 19. The school caters to a wide range of needs, including moderate and severe learning difficulties, complex and multiple learning needs, Autism, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. This is a full-time role and the role involves working closely with the Business Manager and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to be responsible for site management and health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of site management, including maintenance, repairs, and ensuring the premises are maintained to a high standard across all sites.
Be the first point of contact for premises and Health & Safety issues. Adhere to all statutory Health & Safety guidance and conduct regular inspections and checks.
Manage a budget for buildings, maintenance, and Health & Safety. Coordinate and plan essential services, including sourcing quotations and meeting procurement requirements.
Direct and supervise contractors, and be responsible for caretaking staff. Inspect, monitor, and record their work performance.
Act as a key holder and point of contact for emergency callouts. Be responsible for the routine and emergency opening and closing of school premises and grounds.
Perform a variety of tasks including general repairs (e.g., plastering, plumbing) , managing school transport , and overseeing grounds maintenance and cleaning contracts.
Requirements:
- Eligible to work in the UK without any restrictions.
Extended or demonstrable experience in a facilities/premises-related field.
A good working knowledge of tender and contracting procedures.
- High level written and verbal communication skills
Evidence of working with Health & Safety legislation and the Health & Safety Executive.
Experience in running complex projects and managing a budget.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with all stakeholders.
A valid driving licence and access to your own transport, as travel between sites is a regular requirement.
- Level 2 or higher equivalent qualifications in Maths is desirable
A high level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
