For children navigating family separation, court proceedings, or local authority involvement, supervised contact can feel daunting. They need a calm, observant, and compassionate professional to ensure every family interaction takes place in a safe, structured, and positive environment.
Randstad Care is expanding its dedicated family support team across Caerphilly and the wider South Wales region. We are seeking proactive Family Support Workers to supervise family visits, facilitate positive contact sessions, and safeguard children during critical family transitions.
How You'll Create Impact
- Supervise & Support: Facilitate and observe contact sessions between children and their birth families, ensuring emotional and physical safety at all times.
- De-escalate Challenges: Confidently handle tense family dynamics, maintaining a neutral, non-judgemental presence and stepping in if risk arises.
- Maintain Detailed Logs: Record accurate, objective, and clear observational reports following each session to support Social Services and court proceedings.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Relevant Experience: At least 6 months of verifiable UK experience supporting children, families, or youth in a community or social care setting.
- Core Competencies: High emotional intelligence, strict neutrality, solid child protection knowledge, and a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice.
- Transport: A valid UK driving license and access to your own vehicle to transport children or travel between contact centres and family homes.
